Universal Machines – 5-Axis Machining for Everyone

The UMC-1250/50 combines the larger travels and bigger platter of the Haas UMC-1250 Universal Machining Centre with the power and torque of our 50-taper inline-spindle to create the perfect solution for heavy-duty 3+2 machining and simultaneous 5-axis machining of larger parts. The larger contact area of the 50-taper spindle allows the use of longer tools for deep pockets and better access to complex geometries.

  • 5-axis simultaneous machining
  • Powerful 50-taper inline direct-drive spindle
  • Large-capacity side-mount tool changer
  • Includes Wireless Intuitive Probing System

DWO/TCPC Changes Everything:

Dynamic Work Offsets (DWO) together with Tool Centre Point Control (TCPC) are software features in the Haas control. Unquestionably the features make setting up 4-axis and 5-axis jobs as easy as a 3-axis machine. Furthermore, they allow an operator to place the part and fixture anywhere on the machine’s platter. Chiefly they can do this regardless of the location programmed in the CAM system. What’s more this Haas software determines differences between locations programmed in the CAM system and within the machine and applies appropriate offsets.

  • Simplifies setup operations
  • Part and fixture can be placed anywhere on the table/platter
  • Saves money by eliminating costly workholding
  • No need to regenerate programs from the CAM system
  • Makes setting up 5-axis jobs as easy as setting up a 3-axis machine
  • Includes the rotary axis calibration tool

Haas VF-2SS & HRC210 Demo

This demo was designed to show off the higher spindle speed and rapids of the VF-2SS and the quickness of the HRC210.

You can also see in-process probing for part location and feature inspection using the Haas WIPS system.

VF-4 and TR200Y - Cutting Demo

Watch as our VF-4 mill joins forces with our TR200Y 5-Axis trunnion rotary table to put features on 5 sides of this block.

How We Build VMCs Today

Back in the late 1980s we started building our first VMC, the VF-1.

Today, our process is finely tuned and extremely efficient for a machine that is still hand built to a great extent. Take a look at how we build the same VF that may be sitting on your shop floor not too long from now.
