Compact Footprint with BIG CAPACITY AND SPEED!
The DC-3 high-speed machine provides the perfect combination of speed and power to reduce cycle times.
The DC-3 is a gantry-style drill/tap machine with 2,000 mm of X-axis travel to accommodate long, narrow parts or high-density production setups. The machine’s gantry-style spindle head travels in the X and Z axes, while the table travels in Y, and is fully supported along its length to handle heavier loads.
The machine is equipped with a 10,000-rpm 40-taper spindle and high-speed turret-style tool changer to minimize cut-to-cut times and shorten cycle times. Choose the optional 12,000-rpm or 15000-rpm spindle to cut production times even further.
Well suited to the construction, automotive, and aviation industries, the DC-3 can process parts more than 2 m long and 0.5 m wide, in a variety of shapes and profiles, such as long extrusions, steel channel, angle iron, and pipe.
- 2,000 mm X travel to handle long parts and high-density setups
- 10,000-rpm 40-taper spindle (12,000-rpm or 15,000-rpm available)
- High-speed turret-style tool changer, 20 tools
- Rear chip discharge with front chip flush
The ultra-fast, turret-style tool changers on the DC series machines yield tool-to-tool times as fast as 1.25 seconds, and chip-to-chip times as fast as 2.25 seconds to minimise cut-to-cut times and shorten cycle times.

Introducing the DC-1
Mike introduces the new Haas DC-1 Drill Centre and gives three great reasons you should rely on Haas Automation to provide this kind of performance for your shop. This high-speed drill centre, with its turret-style tool changer and rear chip discharge, is all about minimising cut-to-cut times and shortening cycle times. The compact footprint and rear chip discharge of the DC-1 allow machines to be placed side-by-side to maximise floor space, while providing easy side access for automation systems. Correction: Upon further review, we realised that the wrong number was stated in our chip-to-chip tool change speeds. The actual chip to chip tool change times are 2.25 seconds, with 2.5 seconds being the average when calling up random tool changer positions.
Wireless Intuitive Probing System
Drastically reduce setup times on your high-speed machine
Automate your high-speed machine’s setup process with the Haas Wireless Intuitive Probing System (WIPS). WIPS is a complete probing package that includes the spindle probe, tool setting probe, and optical machine interface. Furthermore, powerful software that guides the operator through the job setup process with intuitive, easy-to-use templates. WIPS allows you to quickly and easily define work offset coordinates. Additionally, set tool length offsets, and perform in-process inspection.
