Compact Footprint with BIG CAPACITY AND SPEED!

The DC-1 high-speed machine provides the perfect combination of speed and power to reduce cycle times.

The DC-1 is a traditional-style drill/tap machine with a 10,000-rpm BT30 spindle and high-speed turret-style tool changer to minimise cut-to-cut times and shorten cycle times. Choose the optional 15,000-rpm or 20,000-rpm spindle to cut production times even further. Haas traditional-style drill/tap machines are well suited for both high-mix, low-volume part production with fast turnarounds, and high-volume production runs.

The compact footprint and rear chip discharge of the DC-1 allow machines to be placed side-by-side to maximize floor space, and provide easy side access for automation systems. The machine’s one-piece, extra-wide base provides stable support for heavier parts and fixtures, and the wide-stance triangulated column increases overall rigidity.

  • High-speed turret-style tool changer
  • Rear chip discharge and coolant chip flush
  • Automation ready – Cobot
  • User-friendly Haas control
  • High-performance spindles
  • Easy 4th- and 5th-axis integration

DC-1 high-speed machine; 600 x 450 x 330 mm, BT30 taper, 15 hp vector drive, 10,000 rpm, 30.5 m/min rapids, high-speed 21 tool changer, power-failure detection module, 1 GB program memory, 15″ color LCD monitor, USB port, Ethernet interface, memory lock keyswitch, rigid tapping and 150 L flood-coolant system.

Introducing the DC-1

Mike introduces the new Haas DC-1 Drill Centre and gives three great reasons you should rely on Haas Automation to provide this kind of performance for your shop. This high-speed drill centre, with its turret-style tool changer and rear chip discharge, is all about minimising cut-to-cut times and shortening cycle times. The compact footprint and rear chip discharge of the DC-1 allow machines to be placed side-by-side to maximise floor space, while providing easy side access for automation systems. Correction: Upon further review, we realised that the wrong number was stated in our chip-to-chip tool change speeds. The actual chip to chip tool change times are 2.25 seconds, with 2.5 seconds being the average when calling up random tool changer positions.

Wireless Intuitive Probing System

Drastically reduce setup times on your high-speed machine

Automate your high-speed machine’s setup process with the Haas Wireless Intuitive Probing System (WIPS). WIPS is a complete probing package that includes the spindle probe, tool setting probe, and optical machine interface. Furthermore, powerful software that guides the operator through the job setup process with intuitive, easy-to-use templates. WIPS allows you to quickly and easily define work offset coordinates. Additionally, set tool length offsets, and perform in-process inspection.

How We Build VMCs Today

Back in the late 1980s we started building our first VMC, the VF-1.

Today, our process is finely tuned and extremely efficient for a machine that is still hand built to a great extent. Take a look at how we build the same VF that may be sitting on your shop floor not too long from now.
