Small but mighty – The CM-1 Compact High-Performance Mill

Compact high-performance mill with a wide selection of available options for every workshop.

The CM-1 Compact Mill is a small-footprint, high-accuracy solution for prototyping and producing small, high-precision, 2D and 3D parts. The CM-1 is often found in the communications, aerospace, medical, and dental industries. This compact, high-performance mill is small enough to fit into most freight lifts, and can easily be moved with a pallet jack or equipment dolly.

Small parts manufacturing can pose significant machining challenges for the average job shop. Moreover, tiny holes, minute features, extreme accuracies, and fine surface finishes may prove difficult for larger CNC machines.

The CM-1 Compact Mill is a small-footprint, high-accuracy solution for producing and prototyping small, high-precision 2D and 3D parts, such as those found in the communications, aerospace, medical, and dental industries.

  • Operates on single- or three-phase power
  • Ultra-compact footprint
  • 20-pocket tool changer
  • 30,000-rpm spindle
  • Made in the USA

CM-1 Compact high-performance mill; 305 x 254 x 305 mm, ISO 20 taper, 5 hp vector drive, 30,000 rpm, 20-station automatic tool changer, coolant pump, high-speed machining, power-failure detection module, 1 GB program memory, memory lock keyswitch, 15″ colour LCD monitor, Ethernet interface and USB port.

Haas CM-1 and TRT70 Cutting Demo

The Compact Mill is our small-footprint, high-accuracy solution for prototyping and likewise producing small, high-precision, 2D and 3D parts. Like those found in the communications, aerospace, medical, and dental industries. Furthermore, it’s small enough to fit into most freight lifts.

Add the super-compact TRT70 Tilting Rotary Table to the mix – now you’ve got high precision 5-axis productivity for small intricate parts.

This demo was designed to show off the higher spindle speed and rapids of the VF-2SS and the quickness of the HRC210.

You can also see in-process probing for part location and feature inspection using the Haas WIPS system.

VF-4 and TR200Y - Cutting Demo

Watch as our VF-4 mill joins forces with our TR200Y 5-Axis trunnion rotary table to put features on 5 sides of this block.

How We Build VMCs Today

Back in the late 1980s we started building our first VMC, the VF-1.

Today, our process is finely tuned and extremely efficient for a machine that is still hand built to a great extent. Take a look at how we build the same VF that may be sitting on your shop floor not too long from now.
