Haas EC-1600YZT Horizontal Machining Centre
The Haas EC-1600YZT horizontal machining centre is based on the proven EC-1600, but with 254 mm more Y-axis travel and 203 mm more Z-axis travel. It combines innovative design principles, unique control features and quality construction to make it simple, versatile and affordable.
The spindle, with a 2-speed geared-head, is powered by a 30 hp (22.4 kW) vector-drive system, providing 450 ft-lb (610 Nm) of torque for heavy cutting. Other standard features include a 30+1 side-mount tool changer, remote jog handle, 1 MB program memory, 15" colour LCD monitor and a USB port.
The EC-1600YZT base configuration comes with a full enclosure, quad chip augers and a coolant system with a 95-gallon (360 liter) capacity. The enclosure has two wide doors and an open-roof design to allow access to the table via overhead crane.
An optional 5-degree indexer is available for machining all four sides of a workpiece in one setup. The indexer uses a face-gear coupler design, providing superior accuracy and extreme rigidity for off-center milling, drilling and tapping operations. With a 762 mm platter diameter and 4536 kg capacity, the indexer easily positions very large parts to nearly any angle for machining. A full 4th-axis platter is also available, for high-speed contouring and fully interpolated motion.
